Welcome to the Coldwater Church of Christ. In the early 50's a group of dedicated Christians, who had the desire to establish a non-denominational congregation in the Coldwater area began meeting in an Oldsmobile storefront in Coldwater. They believed the Bible to be the basis for all they did and practiced, and we, who have followed, carry on this core belief and are committed to the teachings of God found only in the Bible.
One year after it's establishment a sister congregation, the Ferndale Church of Christ of Ferndale, MI, aided the congregation by buying the property and providing funds for the construction of a small block building. Since that time, two additions have been added to the original structure.
The Coldwater Church is made up of people like you, from many different backgrounds and experiences. We are individuals seeking meaning and purpose by focusing on God's unique gifts given to each of us. We want to better serve Him and others, and enjoy personal growth. We also invite you to grow with us in learning your purpose on the earth and enjoying the contentment of having Jesus present in your life.
Our mission is to answer the call of God by participating in areas that minister through outreach, education, fellowship, and worship. All these areas of ministry are designed to assist followers of Christ to become increasingly devoted to serving the God of all creation. We seek to do this by obeying the great commission, practicing the great commandment, and developing our spiritual gifts. These are the core instructions of the following scriptures.
1 Peter 2:21 "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, an example, that you should follow in his steps.
Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. (39) And the second is like it: Love you neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depends all the law and prophets."
“Colossians 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord"
